Contour wall
The Contour Wall' is an abstract, colorful, and large-format display measuring two meters high and three meters wide. The project aims to serve as a visually striking and inspiring centerpiece, showcasing the diverse talents and capabilities of Fontys ICT students. By integrating elements from multiple ICT domains, the project offers a practical learning experience for participating students, fostering collaboration, problem-solving, and skill development.
The Contour Wall has excellent documentation, allowing future students to incorporate the LED wall into their own projects. They can present it to the world in an impressive manner.
Dive deeper
Our project involves designing custom LED panel PCBs, which are controlled by ESP32-S3s. We developed a communication protocol built upon UART to communicate with the microcontrollers. We also developed a low-level driver capable of parallel communication with all the microcontrollers at once. There are wrappers in multiple programming languages around this driver to make it easy for others to control the LED wall in their language of choice. The entire construction is modular, making it the perfect choice for easy transport and set up.
